1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes what Linkbase ("we", "our", or "us") collects, how we use it, and who helps us run the service when you use our mobile app and website. We try to collect as little as possible: you can use Linkbase without telling us who you are.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Your Account

Your account is an anonymous user ID created on your device. You do not need to give us your name, email address, or phone number to use Linkbase. We only collect an email address if you choose to turn on sync or backup, so you can get back into your account on another device. We never ask for your name or home address. Because of this, we can see that an account has people, memories, and objects in it, but not who that account belongs to.

2.2 Content You Add

We store the content you add so the app can work and so you can search it: the people you save and their details, notes and facts, memories, objects, reminders, tags, and the photos and videos you attach. This content is yours. We use it only to provide the service to you.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

To keep the app working and to apply your plan's limits, we record basic technical and usage information linked to your anonymous ID, such as app version, error logs, how many searches or card scans you have used, and how many seconds of voice input you have used. Crash reports may include your device model, operating system version, and app version.

2.4 Device Permissions

Linkbase asks for access only when you use a feature that needs it: the microphone for voice input, the camera or photo library for photos, scans, and videos, and your phone contacts only when you choose to import or export them. You can change these permissions in your device settings at any time. Linkbase does not track your location.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Store, organize, and search your people, memories, objects, and reminders
• Carry out magic voice and search requests you make
• Verify your email address if you choose to sync or back up
• Check your subscription status and apply plan limits
• Fix bugs, keep the service reliable, and prevent abuse
• Respond to your questions and support requests

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We never sell your information and we never use your content for advertising. We only share information in these cases:

• With the service providers listed in section 10, only so they can do their part in running Linkbase
• When you create a share link: anyone with that link can see the details you chose to include until the link expires
• To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
• To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, under the same protections described here

5. Data Security

All data travels between the app and our servers over HTTPS (TLS). Access to our servers and storage is restricted, and we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your content for as long as your account exists, so it is there when you need it. You can export your connections from the app at any time.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. Deleting your account deactivates it immediately; all its data (every person, memory, object, reminder, photo, and video) is permanently deleted within 30 days. If you tell us why you are leaving, we keep that note. You can also ask us to delete it by emailing kaloyan@bozhkov.com.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access to your personal information
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of your personal information
• Restriction of processing
• Data portability
• Withdrawal of consent

8. Children's Privacy

Linkbase is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers and service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards required by applicable data protection laws.

10. Service Providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run Linkbase. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:

• AI processing (OpenAI, OpenRouter, Voyage AI): magic voice and search requests pass through our servers and are processed by these third-party AI providers only to fulfil the request you made, such as transcribing a voice note, filling in a profile, or matching a scanned object photo.
• On-device dictation (Apple, Google): some voice input uses your phone's built-in speech recognition, which is handled by your device maker under their terms.
• Photo and video storage (Amazon Web Services S3): the photos and videos you add are stored on AWS S3.
• Email (Resend): used to send transactional emails, such as verifying your address if you turn on sync.
• Crash reporting (Sentry): receives crash and error reports from the app so we can fix problems.
• Payments (Apple App Store, Google Play): subscriptions are purchased and billed by Apple or Google. We receive a receipt to confirm your plan, but we never see your card details.
• Website hosting (Vercel): hosts this website and share-link pages.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Linkbase after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
